The MEDISOL® High-Power LED lamp
Indeed, the innovative technology of LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) is a safe and effective alternative to cumbersome and invasive surgical methods. Nicknamed “skin fitness” in the United States, LED is a revolution in anti-ageing care and in the treatment of many skin problems, including scars, stretch marks and acne.
The MEDISOL High-Power LED lamp emits a monochromatic light that penetrates the tissues and acts on the skin’s repair process. Applications vary according to the colour of the light emitted. Red light, for example, stimulates collagen production and cell renewal, which helps to restore tension to the tissues. Each case therefore corresponds to a specific treatment, for targeted results and maximum effectiveness.
With 7 years’ experience in the development of LED technologies, and in collaboration with the Archet Hospital in Nice and the French Society of Dermatology, Deleo has increased the power of its 1st generation LED lamp. MEDISOL® offers a wider range of medical and aesthetic indications.
PHOTOBIOMODULATION
The stimulation of mitochondrial cytochromes by the photons emitted by LEDs leads to the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This provides energy for cell renewal and stimulates neocollagenesis. This principle of photobiomodulation is very similar to the principle of photosynthesis.
LED photomodulation is a technique that consists of emitting cold light to the cells of our body in order to achieve biostimulation and cell regeneration. This technique does not produce heat like lasers. It is therefore a photo-modulating action rather than a photo-thermal one.
This system uses visible red, blue and yellow light, as well as infrared light. The MEDISOL lamp emits red and infrared light (630nm-850nm), close to the absorption of cytochrome, and is best suited to the production of neocollagen by photobiomodulation.
This stimulates your body’s metabolism at the cellular level:
- Encourage the production of collagen and elastin
- Improve cellular permeability
- Promote the elimination of excess fluid and cell waste
- Promote lymphatic drainage
- Improve vascularisation (blood circulation) on the skin’s surface
This technique can be used to treat various pathologies :
- Post-operative and restorative care (scars, burns…)
- Dermatological care (acne, stretch marks, etc.)
- Aesthetic medicine treatments (anti-ageing, alopecia, etc.)
PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY
In the case of photodynamic therapy (PDT), the photoreceptor is exogenous and the interaction with the light is usually deleterious to the pathologically targeted tissue.
PDT involves applying a photosensitising substance (such as ALA 5) to the skin some time before exposure to blue or red LEDs. Activation of the photo-sensitising substance causes targeted destruction of diseased tissue in the case of medical PDT, or firming and improvement of skin texture in the case of aesthetic PDT.
How does it work ?
The MEDISOL High-Power LED lamp emits a monochromatic light that penetrates the tissues and acts on the skin repair process. Applications vary depending on the colour of the light emitted.
The exclusive feature of the new MEDISOL® LED is its power, which is greater than that of other LEDs on the market. It offers 4 wavelengths:
Blue light (415nm)
The action of blue light is concentrated on the epidermis. The action of the LEDs induces the photoactivation of porphyrins thanks to the blue light, leading to the destruction of the bacteria responsible for acne (P.Acnès). MEDISOL improves refractory acne, rosacea and reduces acne scars. In gynaecology, it can be used to treat vaginal mycosis.
Yellow light (590nm)
Yellow LED penetrates less deeply into the skin, at the boundary between the epidermis and the dermis. It is mainly used to reduce redness and calm inflammation. It accelerates healing and improves blood circulation. Combined with red light, it is also effective in reducing stretch marks and hair loss.
Red light (630nm)
The red LED reaches the dermis. It is mainly used for its anti-ageing action and to accelerate healing, in addition to its soothing effect. As well as reducing wrinkles, it stimulates fibroblasts and therefore increases the production of collagen and elastin. Combined with yellow light, it is particularly effective against hair loss.
Infra-red light (850nm)
Allows the light to penetrate deeper, amplifying the results of photobiomodulation and reducing pain.
This increased, totally controlled power is best suited to the effective production of neocollagen by photobiomodulation. As a result, not only are results faster and longer-lasting, but MEDISOL® also acts more effectively on the skin repair process.
COMBINED TREATMENTS IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE
Combined anti-ageing treatments
MEDISOL is a highly effective complement to various rejuvenation treatments such as peels, laser treatments and techniques using botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid. It provides simultaneous anti-ageing action thanks to photobiomodulation, which stimulates neocollagenesis and cell renewal. Thanks to this synergy, the skin becomes smoother and more toned, the complexion more radiant and wrinkles are greatly reduced.
Aesthetic post-processing
MEDISOL® enhances the effectiveness of certain beauty treatments and reduces post-treatment social exclusion. The soothing and healing effects of LEDs reduce the inflammatory after-effects, the risk of HPPI (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and post-treatment erythema (after a peel or IPL session, for example).
Alopecia
MEDISOL® LED in combination with mesotherapy/PRP is an effective treatment for alopecia (men and women). The aim is to prevent the catagen phase during which the hair follicle dies and falls out. Mesotherapy injects active antioxidant molecules into the scalp. The action of yellow and red LED light stimulates cell renewal through photobiomodulation. The combination of these two methods slows hair loss, stimulates regrowth and redensifies the hair.
POST-OPERATIVE & RESTORATIVE CARE
Scars and burns
MEDISOL® treats all types of scars (post-operative or old) using reparative photobiomodulation. This accelerates and improves the healing process, helping to significantly reduce unsightly scars. It works at all stages of the healing process:
- Inflammatory phase (D0 to D3)
- Proliferation phase (D1 to D10)
- Remodelling phase (J10 to 24 months)
MEDISOL® has a healing effect on burns, irritations and inflammations, as well as a soothing effect on pain.
Stretch marks
MEDISOL significantly reduces the appearance of red and white stretch marks (reduction in depth and wrinkled appearance) and repigmentation.
DERMATOLOGICAL CARE
Acne
The MEDISOL® LED improves refractory acne, rosacea and reduces acne scars. The blue LEDs act on the porphyrins in the P. acnes bacteria to destroy them. The red LEDs penetrate deep enough to reach the sebaceous glands to exert an anti-inflammatory action. We recommend alternating a red light session with a blue light session in the same week.
Dynamic Phototherapy
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) involves applying a photo-sensitising substance to the skin, followed by a session of LEDs (blue or red). In the case of medical PDT, activation of the photosensitising substance causes targeted destruction of the diseased tissue that has absorbed it. Medical indications for treatment include superficial cutaneous carcinoma in the case of extensive skin lesions or multiple skin lesions, after diagnostic confirmation by biopsy. In the case of aesthetic PDT, the LED acts to firm and improve the texture of the skin.
LEDs and cancer
In clinics, LEDs are used to prevent acute radiodermatitis, during breast cancer treatment, before and after radiotherapy, to relieve patients thanks to their soothing effect.
After chemotherapy, LEDs are also used to stimulate hair regrowth (1 session per week) and to treat mucositis. LED lamps have real therapeutic power, but their potential is still sometimes underestimated by the medical profession.

The protocol differs according to needs and indications. In fact, LED therapy sessions may be more frequent depending on the extent of the problem and the condition of the skin. LED treatment can be performed alone or in combination with other aesthetic treatments (peels, microneedling, fractional radio frequency, pulsed light, lasers, etc.).
The first effects are visible after 6 to 8 sessions. The skin continues to evolve after the treatment, as collagen forms.
Sessions last between 10 and 40 minutes, depending on the indication.
The recommended sessions are usually one or two a week for 4 to 6 weeks. Thereafter, we recommend a maintenance phase with one session per month. Depending on your needs, a cream may be prescribed by your doctor.
The LED is applied a few centimetres away from the face or the area to be treated, on cleansed skin. The duration of the session and the intensity and colour of the light vary according to the treatment.
No, the treatment is completely painless. All you feel is a sensation of diffuse heat.
Unlike laser or other more invasive treatments, no special precautions are required. There is no risk of exposure to the sun. The energy delivered causes only slight redness, which disappears after a few hours. You can therefore resume your normal activities as soon as you leave the session.
The first effects are visible after six to eight sessions. Skin changes are gradual and continue for several months after treatment, as collagen forms.
