What is a medical genioplasty?
In aesthetic medicine, hyaluronic acid is used as a correction product for skin suffering from skin ageing. It can also be used as a filler: this is the case in medical genioplasty. This procedure makes it possible to correct the chin without surgery, through the injection of hyaluronic acid. The aim is to reshape the shape or volume of the chin.
Injections in the chin are indicated in several cases:

- A double chin (the contours are not defined enough);
- An unsightly dimple or chin crease;
- Sagging skin
- The desire to reshape the jaw as part of jaw contouring.

Procedure for chin reshaping injections with Dr Thanacody
Following the analysis of your face with Dr Thanacody, the areas to be treated are determined. According to the chosen rendering, the practitioner chooses :
- The type of hyaluronic acid he will use (sufficiently volumizing and fixing);
- The injection technique (needle or cannula).
The injection of hyaluronic acid is a non-invasive and painless procedure. An anaesthetic (lidocaine) is usually already present in the product to be injected. However, you can apply an anaesthetic cream before the session. The procedure only takes 10 to 20 minutes and does not require any social eviction.
What results can I expect after a medical genioplasty?
Medical genioplasty can be performed as part of a global treatment (profiloplasty) or as an isolated procedure. In both cases :
- The face is more harmonious;
- The face is rejuvenated;
- The skin is deeply hydrated and more toned.
Bruising or ecchymosis may appear after the injections – these side effects are harmless and disappear within a few days. Results are visible almost immediately and last approximately 12 to 24 months. Maintenance sessions are therefore recommended.
