Hyaluronic acid: nasolabial folds

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that is naturally found in our body, it is present in 50 to 70% of the tissues of our skin.

Hyaluronic acid plays an essential role in the structure of our skin: it ensures suppleness, elasticity, tone, firmness and hydration. This active ingredient is therefore a reference in the fight against aging.

Correct smile creases gently and naturally

Nasolabial folds – the folds that run from the wings of the nose to the corners of the mouth – tend to deepen over time, making you look tired or severe. Thanks to hyaluronic acid injections, it is possible to reduce them effectively, without surgery, for a natural, immediate and long-lasting result.

The nasolabial fold is also called the labianasal fold. It is a vertical wrinkle that runs from the wings of the nose to the corners of the lips. This wrinkle is sometimes found lower down or towards the cheeks.

It is important to note that nasolabial folds are natural and present at any age – they are often confused with smile lines, which are expression lines.

How are nasolabial folds formed?

The nasolabial folds deepen and become an aesthetic discomfort as we age. This is because sagging skin occurs over time, resulting in a loss of skin elasticity and loss of subcutaneous fat.

Hyaluronic acid injections for nasolabial folds have the advantage of treating the cause of sagging skin: the loss of tone of the cheek.

The aesthetic doctor may use MD Codes to treat several areas of your face in order to harmonize it. Indeed, to treat this sagging (or ptosis), it may be necessary to plump up the entire face by restoring the lost volumes and raising the cheeks.

Why treat nasolabial folds?

With age, the skin loses volume, and the facial tissues descend, accentuating the folds of the smile. Hyaluronic acid helps to:

  • Rebalancing the facial oval
  • Compensate for the loss of volume
  • Smooth the folds without freezing the expression
  • Restore freshness and youthfulness to the face
