{"id":10543,"date":"2025-02-01T00:48:21","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T23:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biolaser.fr\/?p=10543"},"modified":"2025-07-03T15:31:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T13:31:15","slug":"molluscums-contagiosums","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biolaser.fr\/en\/molluscums-contagiosums\/","title":{"rendered":"Molluscums contagiosums"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Molluscum contagiosums are transient mild viral infections<\/strong> of the skin caused by molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), which are transmitted through direct contact with infected skin or contaminated fomites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The natural history of molluscum contagiosum includes a <strong>spontaneous regression<\/strong> (in a few months to 1 year, average 8 months), which is why many authors consider treatment in healthy patients to be unnecessary and purely aesthetic. Therapeutic management is necessary in certain circumstances: if there is significant pruritus, associated dermatitis, painful lesions, aesthetic discomfort, risk of impetigo and bacterial superinfection or risk of significant dissemination. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Classically, the treatment consists of a curettage session, possibly repeated after 4 weeks, or cryotherapy (1 to 4 applications spaced one week apart). None of the drugs used to treat molluscum contagiosum lesions has been shown to be effective. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hygiene measures<\/strong> are part of the treatment and are essential:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wash hands with soap and water after touching lesions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid skin-to-skin contact and cover lesions with clothing or bandages, during team sports for example;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid sharing towels or bath linen (especially in the pool) and clothing in contact with the lesions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When towel drying, finish with the affected areas;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wash the towel after each use;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep nails short and clean.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To limit itching and scratching, it is preferable to avoid high temperatures, especially when washing, contact with woollen clothing and to keep the child&#8217;s nails short.
